UNCRC Article 12: children have the right to say what they think should happen and have their opinions taken into account.
Ballinderry Primary School's School Council is made up of two elected representatives from Year 4 - Year 7. It was originally set up and organised by Mrs. Magowan, but now the teacher in charge in Mr. Mehaffy. During their initial meeting each year, they select the members who will have jobs within the School Council - for example, Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. It has had a say in many aspects of school life, including raising lots of money for charity, and was involved in creating the school's lunchtime charter. To view the charter, click here. This year's representatives on the School Council are:
Molly McKeague (Deputy Secretary)
Edith Hamilton (Treasurer)
Adam Harbinson (Deputy Chairperson)
Laura Dale (Chairperson)
Harry McKee (Secretary)
The minutes of their meeting will appear here during the course of the year.
